The Municipal District of Big Lakes offers visitors access to the largest road accessible lake in Alberta ripe with fishing and hunting opportunities. Lesser Slave Lake, combined with Snipe Lake and Winagami Lake, make the MD a hotspot for year round fishing. With numerous seasonal and overnight campgrounds and service centers spread through the Municipal District of Big Lakes, the MD is ready to meet your needs. The region also boasts deep historical roots in the province of Alberta which can be explored my visiting a number of museums and cultural sites. With annual fishing derbies, concert events, and rodeos the MD is equiped to entertain the whole family with events and activities, or if you prefer, you can get away and enjoy the wildlife, birding, and fishing opportunities that are conducive to the natural environment.
